Salon Metro and Day Spa in Downtown Tacoma, Washington has closed it's doors. Don't fret, though!! Some of the best stylists have come together to open their own NEW salon right in the heart of downtown Tacoma. It will be a more beautiful salon and provide additional services not offered at the old Salon Metro. New ownership - not connected to the old Salon Metro in any way. If you have an old Salon Metro gift certificate....
Mark and Adee have said that they will contact the old owner Tina and/or just allow you to use it at their new salon.
I received a gift card for Salon Metro for $338.00. (An entire spa day, the works) I called to make my appointment and the number is disconnected. I would like to know if my gift card will still be honored...if not, how do I get my money back? Please help.
I have a friend who asked the owners if they could use a Salon Metro gift certificate and was told that Salon Sublime would not honor any gift certificates from Salon Metro. I detect a lie on the part of Salon Sublime and false advertizement. I you are going to use another salon to promote your business you need to follow through, of course this is bad business tactics. When a business closes it is unfortunate that there will be loses on all sides and is not able to redeem gift certificates, this happens in resturants, hotels, airlines, etc.
I would have to leave it up to the Salon Sublime owners to let us know if something changed. Perhaps, as you note, they were not able to actually do that but their initial intention was to try to help customers out and do it.
In response to the comment posted at the same time on another thread, I - Nicole - created this blog because I was a loyal customer for years and myself and 3 other women (friends and colleagues) had no idea what happened to salon metro when it didn't announce a closing and just disappeared. So my posts here are meant to inform people, not to help the new salon slander the old salon or "bad marketing tactics" or whatever. It was created by a customer to help other customers like me. The new salon stylists gave information here but I think did a great job of not spreading ill will gossip. I personally haven't even been told any gossip. I do not even know the stylists personally.
