Where is Salon Metro? Salon Metro in Tacoma, Washington

I am setting up this blog because I was as confused as the next guy (or woman) about where Salon Metro went.

Salon Metro was in Tacoma, Washington for 1o years and recently closed its doors without any notice or explanation.

Today I found information as to what happened. I will post key bits of information on this blog to help gain exposure but the original info came from - http://www.exit133.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5213.

Read my other posts about what to do/who to contact.

Hi my name is Dara. Formally a stylist from Salon Metro. This site pretty much explains what happened to Salon Metro. We are currently constructing our new and amazing salon located at 1117 Broadway. We are shooting for an open date of the 3rd week of February. The employees of Salon Metro are all staying together including...Dara,Jen,Adee,Mark, Rosie,Tonya and Michelle. We are really excited for this new salon and our construction men are working hard to getting it completed. For anyone that has questions or would like to stay in contact, please feel free to contact me @253 861 2928. Thank you to all our clients who have stayed patient and loyal. We deeply apologize for the sudden change.

The site does not explain what happened to Salon Metro. What happened is that the owner as most people know had chronic tendoitis, and fybromyalgia and could not keep up the pace of needing to work 10 hours a day to make ends meet. The cost of overhead was so high and the staff was limited on what they wanted to produce, that if you do not make a profit you can not stay in business. The Salon has been sucessful for 15 years, unfortunately business decisions had to be made based on these facts. If this staff did not understand when it was explained to them the cost of running a business and the consequences of lack of work by employees then I believe they will understand as soon as they dive into this business. Mark was supposed to be a staff motivater to help them to get excitied about their work, he had 2 months to try but did not follow through with the marketing nor retail incentives. As far as being a manager, he was not and did not know any more than what was expained to all of the staff. I wish the new owner success and hop that he can motivate the staff. They are pretty good hair dressers with good customer service and they have potential. JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU CANNOT RUN A BUSINESS ON SLANDER AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. You should never burn bridges when you leave a business.

And that's the power of the Internet. If you know what happened or you are the old owner and want to share - great!

As a customer, I created this to let people know something because we knew NOTHING. As far as we knew it was just that a phone bill wasn't paid. So, in my case, I drove all the way down to the salon to see nothing. No letter. No phone left connected with a message like "Thank you for your loyal business over the past 15 years. We have closed our doors. Thank you." Something? Anything? Nothing.

I - Nicole - created this blog because I was a loyal customer for years and myself and 3 other women (friends and colleagues) had no idea what happened to salon metro when it didn't announce a closing and just disappeared. So my posts here are meant to inform people and let them know when they google salon metro to not just keep calling and being frustrated and confused.

The intenions have not been to help the new salon slander the old salon or "bad marketing tactics" or whatever. It was created by a customer to help other customers like me. The new salon stylists gave information here but I think did a great job of not spreading ill will gossip. I personally haven't even been told any gossip. I do not even know the stylists personally.

Give people the benefit of the doubt.
